The Movement for Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has finally agreed to allow Edwin Clark,  a former Federal Commissioner for Information, lead the pan Niger Delta group that will dialogue with the Federal Government.

According to Vanguard, MEND also agreed to  dissolve its Aaron Team 2, headed by Odein Ajumogobia and work with Clark.

The Secretary of Aaron Team 2, Timipa Okponipere, was said to have conveyed the group's decision to the elder statesman‎ in Warri, Delta State.

The Niger Delta Avengers had chosen Clark to head a separate team that would negotiate with the government, but MEND threatened to pull out of the ongoing peace talks if the Federal government agrees to dialogue with the Clark-led team.
