Free feeding program increased school enrolment – Governor says

Channels TV reports that El-Rufai said he had to cut costs and block all leakages to ensure that the feeding program continues.

The Governor also revealed that the program which feeds 1.5 million pupils, costs the government N1.2b every month.

He added that the school feeding program has also helped parents.

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Kaduna State, Yohanna Allah Magani criticised the feeding program, saying it is a waste of time.

The Kaduna state commissioner for education, Dr. Shehu Adamu also revealed that some pupils run away from school after eating their food.
