PDP Chieftain assassinated

He was said have been trailed by the killers to his house in Ada-George area of Port Harcourt around 12.30am Tuesday, before being shot dead.

Unknown gunmen have assassinated a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Olala Osondu.

He was said have been trailed by the killers to his house in Ada-George area of Port Harcourt around 12.30am Tuesday, before being shot dead.

Report said Osondu was returning from a meeting when the incident happened. It was also gathered that the wife to the deceased said she heard two gunshots few seconds after sighting her husband’s car in the dark.

The deceased an ex-officio member of the PDP in the state and the Secretary of the Grassroots Development Initiative in Rivers.

The State Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, confirmed the incident, saying investigations is ongoing.
