Governor Ayo Fayose has debunked reports that his election was funded by the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had alleged that Fayose’s bank account was used to move funds connected to the arms purchase fraud.

Fayose speaking through his Adviser on New Media, Lere Olayinka on Twitter, said “I did not get money from the NSA Office to fund my election. It is just conspiracy,it will fail like that of 2006.”

He also said “I declared in my Assets Declaration Form that I had N300m in my fixed Deposit Account in Zenith Bank.”

The former People's Democratic Party (PDP) Secretary in Ekiti State, Tope Aluko, also alleged that ex President Goodluck Jonathan released funds for Fayose’s 2014 governorship election.
