President Muhammadu Buhari has hinted that the December deadline given to the military to flush out Boko Haram, might be shifted.

Mr. President also expressed his support for the Nigerian military, while urging them to come up with new strategies that will help counter insurgency.

Buhari, speaking through the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Gabriel Olonishakin, at the opening ceremony of the 2015 Annual Conference of the Chief of Army Staff said “The Nigerian Army must, therefore, develop strategies to address the current challenges facing the country and ensure total elimination of the insurgents."
He also said “Despite the achievements of the military in combating terrorism in the North East, the challenges of terrorism in other parts of the country remains an issue of serious national concern with the potential to impede our change drive.”
President Buhari has come under heavy criticism lately, because of his frequent travels.
