'145 accident-related deaths were recorded in 2015' - FRSC
The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has revealed the number of lives lost in accidents.
According to FRSC Sector Commander for Ogun state, Mr Adegoke Adetunji, 145 people died in 392 road accidents between January and December 2015, adding that 152 of those accidents were fatal.
Adetunji noted the reduction in the number of deaths when compared to the 2014 records.
"In 2014, 234 deaths were recorded and 984 people injured in 298 accidents," he revealed.
In order to reduce these deaths, the Commander urged people to obey traffic rules and regulations.
"The command is advising road users to be safety conscious while obeying traffic rules and regulations, and we also enjoin them to desist from driving against traffic."
Commercial vehicle operators were advised to fix the speed limit device in their vehicles before the April 1st deadline.
