VDM recently took the side of Jude Okoye in the dispute involving the Okoye brothers. He said he had looked into the matter and planned to share his findings after speaking with people connected to the controversy.

His position has, however, drawn criticism from several quarters, with some accusing him of interfering in a family matter without sufficient evidence.

Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan has repeatedly criticised VDM over his involvement in the dispute. She said the activist sided only with her former label boss, Jude, because she refused his (VDM) friendship.

VDM has also faced criticism from other online personalities and entertainers who urged him to stay out of the Okoye family dispute.

Media personality Radiogad questioned some of VDM’s claims. According to him, VDM had yet to provide concrete evidence to support his position, despite releasing several videos about the matter.

He noted that much of what VDM had shared centred on conversations he claimed to have had with Cynthia Morgan and an encounter with singer Phyno, while Peter Okoye had not responded to his claims.

Liberian actor Artus Frank also urged VDM to stay away from the dispute, despite his respect for VDM and his work.

“Stay off this. Trust me, you are a very respected person. I follow you and the tremendous effort you make in the Nigerian community. As long as it comes to the Okoye family, stay off it”

Fans also joined the criticism, with some questioning VDM’s decision to take a position in the family dispute.

One fan, KDC Global, urged VDM to allow the brothers to speak for themselves and defend their positions in the matter.

“Thank God Jude is alive. Recall Paul came out to say he wished his mother were alive to defend herself. Thank God Jude and Paul are alive and can defend themselves,” he stated.

The backlash grew as some fans who felt dissatisfied with VDM’s involvement. Some have also unfollowed him over his position on the matter.

VDM, however, appeared unfazed by the loss of followers. Reacting to the development, he wrote, “13,000 13 thousand people have unfollowed me so far……Nigerians, I am sorry. I made a terrible mistake. Forgive me,13 thousand people that have been giving me promotions and advertising,I am sorry, 13 thousand people, please forgive me.”

The latest development adds to the public fallout around P-Square, whose members, Peter and Paul Okoye, have remained at the centre of a long-running dispute involving their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
