Dalung made headlines today, August 4, 2016 when a video of the minister surfaced on social media.

Dalung while reacting to the condition of Nigeria's U-23 football team who were stranded in America, the minister referred to the country as "United states of Nigeria".

He said: "Our U-23 team suffering in the United States of Nigeria, What are for? Because they are U-23 and they went to US and they are having problems, does that become our business?"

This immediately began to generate reactions from from Nigerians on Twitter.
