Mother, son die in car after snow blocks exhaust
News reports have revealed the tragic incident that claimed the life of a young mother and her 1-yr-old son.
Sashalynn Rosa, 23, as well as her 3-yr-old daughter, Saniyah and 1-yr-old son, Messiah, had reportedly been found unconscious from carbon monoxide poisoning after her car's exhaust had been blocked by snow.
Upon his return to the car 10 minutes later, reports reveal that the husband and father had found his family unconscious inside the car.
Speaking on the unfortunate incident, Detective Andy White said:
"They were staying warm while the father was shoveling the vehicle out.
"The exhaust pipe was covered by snow, causing carbon monoxide to spill out into the car, poisoning the family.
Daily mirror reports that, Emergency services had performed CPR on all three of them before the arrival of the police, before they had all been rushed to Saint Mary's Hospital Passaic.
Despite the desperate efforts of the medics to revive Rosa and her son, Messiah, it had been too late for them.
Felix Bonilla Sr., speaking with ABC News revealed saying:
"It's hard to lose them like that.
"The doctors say they don't think she's going to make it. Doctor says she has a slight chance to make it."
Saniyah has reportedly been transferred to Saint Joseph Hospital in Paterson, where she is said to be fighting for her life.
