Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman continued his good start to the season with his new club Atalanta on Sunday as they picked up a positive result in the Serie A.

The 25-year-old was part of the squad that grabbed an encouraging 1-1 draw at home to defending champions AC Milan at the Gewiss Stadium.

The Nigerian international built on his goalscoring debut against Sampdoria last weekend as he came on to help the Gian Piero Gasperini-led side dig in for a valuable point.

Lookman started on the bench for Atalanta in his first home fixture for his new club as the former RB Leipzig continues to wait for his first start having also come on as a substitute against Sampdoria.

Atalanta were first to take the lead in the Matchday 2 fixture as Ruslan Malinovskyi got on the end of a Joakim Maehle assist in the 29th minute to give the home side the lead.

AC Milan chased the lead and had to call on the big guns from their bench including former Premier League pair Olivier Giroud and Divock Origi as well as Charles de Ketelaere and Alexis Saelemaekers as the champions tried to prevent an upset.

Saelemaekers made his substitution count when he fed Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer the ball in the 68th minute for Milan to level the scores.

As Gasperini tried to regain the lead, the Italian coach brought on Lookman in the 73rd minute in place of the goalscorer Malinovskyi.

The Super Eagles star made his impact on the match still with the limited time, completing 100% of the passes he attempted as well as finding his intended target with one (1) long ball, and attempting two (2) unsuccessful crosses.

Lookman also chipped in defensively, winning two (2) of his three (3) ground duels, drawing one (1) foul from the Milan players as well as completing one (1) dribble attempt. 

Despite not being able to replicate his goalscoring substitute appearance against Sampdoria, Lookman made the most use of the minutes he got against last season's champions.

The Nigerian international will be hoping to get his first start in Atalanta's colours next Sunday, August 28 when they travel to Marc Antonio Bentegodi to take
