The man was arrested on Saturday, August 27 after he snuck into one of the rooms at the Aarows Club located in Rydalmere, north-west Sydney, Australia, to carry out the attack.

The security at the venue is said to have detained the man after he tripped an alarm.

The police have revealed that this is not the first time the club has been targeted, with different items in the room alarmed to alert security of tampering.

The man now faces charges of administering a poison with intent to injure or cause distress or pain, entering a building with intent, malicious damage and driving while suspended.

The suspect has been granted conditional bail and would be arraigned before the Parramatta Local Court on September 20.
