Remorseful thief returns stolen money to orphans

An Iraqi thief has reportedly returned 10 million dinars (Dh32,000) he stole from a house two days after learning the money belongs to orphans.

The thief, apparently feeling remorseful over his actions, left the stolen money in a plastic bag at the door of the house in the eastern Diyala province at dawn, Al Sumeria network reported.

“We found the stolen money in a plastic bag left just outside the door.

“The money belongs to orphans whose father died in a bomb attack four years ago,” the Iraqi network said, quoting a source close to that family.

Those orphans can be grateful to the thief for suddenly developing a conscience.
