Yesterday, May 11, 2017, Team Rose faced the mean streets of Obalende in a bid to get their six talking heads.
Today, it was the turn of Team Purple members, Abigail, Sophie and Ibukun to complete their tasks, but this time, it was among the trappy vibes and flashing lights at the monthly music industry event, Industry Nite.
This month’s edition was billed to feature afro-trap artiste, Terry Apala, and one of the icons of the apala genre, Musiliu Haruna Ishola, among other emerging acts.
The contestants were joined, as always, by members of the Pulse team, Cee Classic and Segun Akande, as they continued the quest to become the next Pulse TV Strivia Presenter.
The entire team started the night out at Spice Route, Victoria Island where the event was scheduled to hold; and after a quick run-down of their expectations, it was time to get to work.
First to the plate was Abigail. Despite the obvious lack of order in the venue’s main room, she chose to make the most of the considerably high number of people.
She sat by some, walked up to others and with a bit of charm and an obvious willingness to talk to almost anyone, she quickly made progress.
This enthusiasm led to a small incident with a subject who decided, mid-interview, that he wanted to be a Pulse VJ too.
However, she managed it and soon had her 6 talking heads.
Sophie then stepped up. In a change of tactic, she decided to be explore her options by being more mobile and going around the venue.
She spoke with people in the venue’s main room, hallway, private cubicles and lobby. Her manner of approach was also more conversational and in good time, she had her talking head.
Finally, it was time for Ibukun to make her case. The event was in its final leg at this point and the audience was more interested in watching Terry Apala tease his new track than they were to answer trick questions on camera.
So, while it was admittedly more difficult to get people talking, she filled the gap by being more daring and talking to more prominent members of the audience, including performing acts.
What came out of this were some very interesting conversations.
Ibukun’s final talking head came in the early hours of the morning and after a quick rundown, the contestants ended up at their hotel rooms where they got some rest before their Facebook Live show.
That show held at 10.30 on Thursday morning. The contestants spoke with Cee Classic about their time at Spice Route and their thoughts on the competition.
