News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Haruna who reside with the girl's parents at 19, Ayobode Street, Oke-Ira, Ogba, was arraigned on two counts charges bordering on rape.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Raphael Donny, told the court that Haruna committed the offenses on March 19, 2017, at his residence after he lured the minor into his room pretending that he wanted to send her on an errand and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.

Sgt. Donny added that the offenses contravened Sections 257 and 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

When the charges were read to him, the accused pleaded not guilty and the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Davies Abegunde, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum while the case was adjourned until  May 15, pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution.
