So the question is; since when did drugs become synonymous with the Nigerian entertainment industry? If they are not arrested, they are suspects and if not rumoured to have been involved one way or another. This leaves us wondering, at a time when business is booming (or so it may seem) for the industry, lest we forget the President’s $200m grant to the entertainment industry. What then is the need for drug peddling, well you can say they are all rumours..bla...bla..bla! As we like to say in Nigeria; “there is no smoke without fire!”
Recently all our Celebs, both in the music and movie industries have been performing one feat or the other; Building mansions, buying cars expensive enough to feed Lagos (Maybe I exaggerated a bit) and so on, yet for some or most of them you cannot clearly see or deduce the source of their new found wealth. Before you start to explain; please we know those that are hot (Toast of the market) and those that aren’t. So when you don’t sell an album, no hit movies, and we don’t see you at major events, and one day you show up with a private jet! Hmmnn... don’t be surprised when ‘those people’ (Aprokos, Amebos etc.) begin to associate your name with that of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and please we beg of you don’t make it worse by saying you are into business (which mumu business), business that you managed to hide till you made millions? Please talk about something else.
Anyways, now that Baba Suwe has been freed, those people’ have started saying things that involve our beloved industry and our infamous NDLEA again O! Well when we get the full gist, be sure you will be the first to hear about it, till stay entertained and don’t do DRUGS!!!!
