Nestlé opens 2026 scholarship for Science students in Nigeria — check eligibility and how to apply

• Nestlé Nigeria has opened applications for its 2026/2027 Community Scholarship Programme.

• The scholarship is open to eligible students from Agbara, Sagamu and Abaji studying Science and Technology-related subjects.

For many Nigerian students, school fees remain one of the biggest reasons academic dreams get delayed or completely abandoned. With tuition and other expenses still climbing, every scholarship opportunity counts.

That's why Nestlé Nigeria's announcement of its 2026/2027 Community Scholarship Programme will come as good news to students living in some of its host communities.

The company has officially opened applications for the scholarship programme, continuing an initiative it started in 2020 to support young Nigerians and reduce the financial burden of education.

According to Nestlé, the programme has already benefited more than 250 students over the past six years, helping many of them stay in school and complete their studies.

The scholarship is available to eligible students from Agbara, Sagamu and Abaji.

For tertiary institution applicants, candidates must:

• Be a current 100-level student

• Be studying a Science or Technology-related course

• Have scored 200 or above in the UTME

Secondary school applicants must:

• Be an SS1 Science student

• Have at least five credit passes in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)

The scholarship covers tuition, textbooks and other education-related expenses, giving beneficiaries room to focus more on their academics instead of worrying about how to pay the next bill.

Nestlé said the programme has produced impressive academic results since it began.

According to the company, over 70% of tracked beneficiaries are either maintaining or graduating with First Class honours, showing the long-term impact of sustained educational support.

Applications will go through verification involving schools, community unions and community leaders to ensure the selection process is fair and transparent.

Interested students are expected to complete the online application before the August 28, 2026 deadline.

One of the programme's beneficiaries, Kazeem Fatai, recently graduated from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) with a First Class Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronics Engineering).

Reflecting on his journey, he said:

Knowing that Nestle continued to invest in my education year after year motivated me to stay committed to my goal of graduating with a First Class. Today, I am proud to have achieved that dream, and I hope my story inspires other young people to remain focused, work hard, and make the most of every opportunity they receive.”
