Is It Right For NYSC To Stop Sending Corps Members To Volatile States?

The National Youth Service Commission has come out with a decision that youth corps members would not be posted to volatile states in the northern parts of Nigeria because of past experiences where corps members have lost their lives.

Some of those states include Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States which have been identified as hotbeds for the Boko Haram insurgents.

While some Nigerians see this as a welcome development, others see it as a defeat to the original aims of the scheme which was to unite Nigerian youths.
