He was a finalist in the 100 m and 4 × 100 m at the 2015 All-Africa Games.

He won the 100 m at the Nigerian Championships in 2015 and 2016.

Ogunlewe who initially started out playing football moved to Ireland in 2008 and won the Irish Schools Championships in 2009 and 2010. Ireland and Nigeria were in a race to get him to represent them at the World Junior Championships in 2010.

He however eventually missed the championships. He is a Law and Politics graduate of the University of Essex.
