Jade Roper Tolbert Posts Underwear Photo A Week After Giving Birth In Her Closet
Bachelor alum Jade Roper Tolbert welcomed her son Brooks last week in a super dramatic fashion and soon after, she shared details with fans about how she accidentally gave birth in her closet. Now that things have calmed down a little (and presumably, her closet has been cleaned), Jade is opening up about her postpartum body.
Womens bodies are seriously phenomenal! Jade captioned a shot of herself wearing black underwear and cuddling with her son. Its taking my uterus more time to return to its normal state this time around, but honestly I have never loved my body more than I have this postpartum.
Jade said shes gotten a lot of questions about her recovery (she had several stitches and is slowly healing physically). But she said her mental and emotional healing is hard to put a finger on. Still, she added, I am giving myself grace to process everything.
After such an overwhelming labor and delivery, I have so much respect for my body and the journey its been on this year to grow and bring this perfect little joy into my life, Jade said. So in love, so thankful.

Plenty of people praised Jade in the comments for sharing what a normal postpartum body looks like. Hollywood makes it seem like women bounce back so quickly but that just isnt the case, wrote Married at First Sight star Jamie Otis. Heck, between the hemorrhoids and the stitches I could barely walk.
LOVE THIS! Youre SO beautiful!!! said fitness influencer Anna Victoria.
Every woman and every pregnancy is different, and there are so many factors that dictate how long it takes your body to go back to normal, Jessica Shepherd , MD, an ob/gyn in Texas, previously told WomensHealthMag.com . Not only that, a womans uterus is still shrinking in the postpartum period, and typically doesnt go back to its normal size until around six weeks after you give birth, Shepherd says.
Getting back to your "normal" can take time in the postpartum period, and theres absolutely nothing wrong with that. You did just have a baby, after all. Kudos to Jade for celebrating her postpartum bod.
