An escaped goat went viral after it smiled for a selfie with an animal control officer.

The Norfolk Police Department said Animal Control Officers Adam Blankenship and Nicholas Calnan sprinted into action Thursday when a rogue goat was spotted wandering the streets near a school.

"After a brief foot pursuit by the goat was apprehended," police said in a Facebook post.

"No charges will be filed against the goat! He was just enjoying the springtime weather," the post added.
