World's fattest man dies on Christmas Day after suffering from heart attack
The world's heaviest man - who weighs in at a staggering 960 lbs - is dead after suffering a heart attack on Christmas Day.
Andreas Moreno – who once weighed 980lbs (70 stone) – was taken to hospital near his home in Ciudad Obregón in Sonora, Mexico, where he later died.
His publicist Carmen Palacios said: ‘Andres died at 8.30am on Christmas Day in an ambulance from a heart attack as he was taken from his house to San Jose Hospital.’
He previously had the support of Cristiano Ronaldo who sent him a signed Real Madrid football shirt to inspire him to lose weight.
Moreno said at the time: ‘I want to thank everyone, especially Ronaldo, for taking interest in my case.
‘Sometimes you think that people live in another world way from the people, but that is not the case.
‘I feel as if I had gotten a Christmas gift before Christmas.’
The 37-year-old had become bed bound over recent years due to his weight and also suffers from a variety of serious illnesses.
Before his death, we previously reported that he was transported from his bed by 7 people for a fat reduction surgery.
Mexico has one of the world's fattest populations, with 70 per cent of people overweight and a third of them are obese, causing a range of serious health problems.
The country also suffers one of the worst rates of diabetes which kills more than 80,000 Mexicans every year.
