Woman severely injured after big block of poo fell from a plane

A 60-year-old woman suffered a shoulder injury after a football-sized chunk of poo fell on her from the sky.

Rajrani Gaud, 60 was lucky to escape with her life, as the ‘poo-bomb’ crashed on her rooftop instead of smashing directly into her skull.

It was the size of a football, the Times of India reported, and could have been deadly.

"I was only 25 feet away from the spot where the monster came crashing down. Children and villagers witnessed the fall and then heard screams. We ran to wards Rajrani's house and referred her to hospital,"Deepak Jain, a government school teacher in Aamkhoh village, told Times of India.

"The ice ball hit the roof first. Other wise, it would have smashed her skull," he said.

The ‘poo from the blue’ is believed to have come from a passing aeroplane, which unintentionally dropped a ball of frozen urine and excrement from its toilet.

This is not the first time faeces has flown. In October last year, a British couple attributed damage to their roof to the same problem.

The Civil Aviation Authority say incidents like this are relatively rare. Aeroplanes try to store toilet waste until landing, but sometimes the mechanism fails.
