News reports have revealed the hilarious incident that led to the arrest of a goat, now facing up to 7 years in jail for eating a Judges vegeatbles.

Daily Mirror reports that the police involved had registered the case against the goat as well as it's owner, identified as Mr Hassan, after it raided the district magistrate's petunias and cabagges.

The pair have now been released on bail after spending a night in jail cells, but now face charges of causing mischief and criminal trespass, offences carrying a two to seven-year prison term and fine.

Officer Ram Sewak Paikra from Janakpur town in Korea district, Chhattisgarh state revealed that the female goat was an alleged 'repeat offender'.

Speaking on the issue, officer Paikra said:

"The goat and the owner were under police custody and are out, as both the sections 427 and 447 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code) are bailable offences."

Mr Hassan speaking with NDTV, said:

"My goat scaled the boundary wall again and ate flowers and vegetables from the garden. It was taken to the police station and then the police also brought me in."
