The Address Downtown Dubai hotel is reported to have gone up in flames on New year's eve, 14 people have been reported injured after a huge fire broke out at the Address Hotel in Dubai during New Year celebrations.

The couple seem to have taken the opportunity to take a smiling selfie with the hotel burning in the distance behind them.

Instagram user, AbdulRahman Alateeqi, posted the picture almost an hour following the fire outbreak, captioning the photo thus:

"Happy New Year My dear Dubai. 
"May God bless you and keep you safe, you always surprise us with the biggest fireworks."

As expected many did not take lightly the morbid sense of humour behind the selfie.

A Mirza Hussai commented on the photo, saying:

"Most inappropriate selfie ever."

Another person commented on the photo saying:

"Yeah let's take a selfie where people could be burning to death."

It wasn't until others called for the picture to be take down before Alateeqi finally obliged the request and deleted the insensitive photo.
