The biological mum, identified only as Xiao Mei was reportedly below the age of consent when the child was conceived, and A Duan did not finish high school

Spending a lot of his time in web cafes, A Duan decided to sell the baby without her mother's consent and haggled for a price over QQ, a popular social network.

The buyer allegedly said his were purchasing the child for his sister.

A Duan was given a 3-year prison sentence and Xiao Mei was given a suspended sentence of two and a half years as she is helping raise her younger brother and taking care of her disabled parents.

Although the buyer has gone to police, the baby has remained with his sister as the parents are unable to raise her.
