Illegal tax collectors arrested in Anambra state

Officers of the Anambra police command have reportedly arrested over 20 men for various crimes related to illegal tax collection.

A group of men have been arrested over suspicions of acting in the capacity of tax collectors without proper authorisation.

The Ocha Brigade teamed with joint task force in Anambra state, stormed Agulu, Ekwulobia, Uga on Monday, September 12, in the fight against illegal tax collection.

The team successfully arrested over 20 men, who now face harassment, extortion and illegal revenue collection charges.

The culprits are currently in police custody as further investigations are carried out after which they would be arraigned before the court of law for their crimes.
