According to the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Bala Elkana, the incident happened in Afita Mama Pandogari area, Kagara Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that Halima and her husband had an argument over drinking water after which she drank a poisonous substance suspected to be Sniper.

She was rushed to a hospital in the are and reportedly died while receiving medical attention.

According to the husband, he and his wife had quarreled sometime last week after which she rushed into the house and drank poison.

“I had a misunderstanding with her. We were arguing over water to drink in the house. My wife took an offence and drank poison because of the misunderstanding between us,” Musa informed the police during interrogation.

While confirming the tragic story, ASP Elkana said the command’s operatives responded to a distress call from Musa after his wife drank the poison and on reaching there, the woman was already unconscious.

“The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention but she later died. The matter is still under investigation.”
