The arrest supposedly stemmed from a critical post on social media regarding the state governor, Uba Sani.

Sources report that in a Facebook post, Galadima voiced disapproval of Sani’s recent remarks targeting the former governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai.

She was allegedly apprehended in her community in Kaduna’s Tudun Wada area on Sunday afternoon, and her phone was subsequently unreachable.

However, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, claimed ignorance of the arrest and advised directing inquiries to the DSS for clarification.

“I’m not aware that a woman was arrested for posting a negative comment against His Excellency. In any case, you should direct your enquiries to the DSS, not the Kaduna State Government,” he stated as quoted by Daily Trust.

Background

Recall that Pulse reported in March that Governor Sani voiced his frustration over the huge debt Kaduna State accumulated during his predecessor's tenure.

He stated that this situation had been a challenge that has caused a delay in paying workers' salaries.

Sani said his administration inherited a huge debt burden of $587 million, ₦85 billion, and 115 contractual liabilities from the immediate past government.

El-Rufai's son reacts to Gov Sani's jibe

Following Governor Sani's statement, Bashir El-Rufai, the son of the former governor, took to his X handle to suggest that the current governor was attempting to conceal his administration's failures.

El-Rufai asserted that the governor had neglected his duties and shifted the blame away from his responsibilities.

“These guys have realised that they are wholly incompetent and the only way to mask the nonsense is to deflect. From a Governor who is always sleeping in Abuja to a litany of incompetent aides who were only rewarded for foolish political reasons,” he said.
