Court remands man for allegedly defiling 7-year-old girl

Oladimeji whose residential address was not provided, is charged with defilement.

Magistrate I. O. Osho did not take the plea of Oladimeji because the court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the matter.

Osho said the the court is awaiting legal advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Oyo State.

She adjourned the case until May 2 for mention.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Foluke Adedosu told the court that Oladimeji committed the offence on June 29, 2020, at about 6. p.m at Oopoyeosa area, Mokola, Ibadan.

She said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 218 of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.
