Ilombe Mboyo aka Petit Pele is a prolific striker no doubt and was more than excited and ready to take a long dive into the English Premier League from the Belgian site, AA Gent. He had scored 20 goals last season and is the present captain of the Buffalos and has been ticked as one of the best the league had ever seen. That’s exactly what English site West Ham saw and began their move to grab the talent.

Almost ¾ ways into the move, West Ham called off the deal. The English club has revealed shocking discoveries about the striker’s past. Mboyo unfortunately was convicted for gang rape of a 14 year old girl 9 years ago while a member of a Brussels street Gang. He was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment.

Reports say the footballer served just 3 years from the 8 following a special program called ‘foot en prison’ and good behavior and was allowed to go scot free. The African root player was about to make his biggest dream move but it seems his past has caught up with him at last. He might also come to face denial to go to Brazil in 2014 as part of the Red Devils!

The president of West Ham’s son, Sack Sullivan began something on twitter to evaluate fans’ reaction and close to 99% denied Mboyo’s signing. They claimed he is a bad role model to youths and wasn't allowed to serve for his crime.

The 26 year old player earning £5 million was seen as an alternative to Andy Carol up front but none of this would happen if only the West Ham officials could bypass this moral dilemma of buying a player with such a dark past. Mboyo might just kiss his dream goodbye!

However, the Belgian FA president Francois De Keersmaeker said: ‘Once someone’s time in the cells ends, they don’t necessarily have to be lost to society. ‘It’s too easy to stigmatize. could be an example for young people who go down the wrong path.’

Rape is a serious crime and giving the fact that the victim is still alive, what will she be thinking every time she sees one of the guys who raped her 9 years ago so rich and famous and cheered to glory? Does it still mean, Ilombe Mboyo is safe to reside in a community?

Simultaneous to his disappointment from West Ham, Mboyo's girlfriend was involved in a traffic accident on Sunday which left the lady severely wounded. The accident was reported to had taken place close to the striker's club stadium just 15 minutes to kick off of a game. There are claims, she would make it.

What will this 26 year old rapist do with his career from now on? Does he need a second chance?
