The Golden State Warriors recorded a 104-94 victory against the Boston Celtics to take Game 5 of the 2022 NBA Finals.

In the early hours of Tuesday, June 14, 2022 the Warriors took hold of the series as they now lead 3-2.

After Steph Curry exploded for 43 points to tie the series, the baby faced assassin could not replicate his heroics in Game 5.

The Warriors started off game five hot and took the first quarter 27-16 to establish an early lead.

The second quarter was much closer but the warriors won 24-23 to take a 12 point lead to the halftime break.

The Warriors have dominated the third quarter in this series but Game 5 was different as the Celtics won 35-24 but the Warriors took a one point lead to the fourth quarter

The Warriors coasted 29-20 in the fourth quarter and rested their key players with two minutes left to play.

Wiggins saves Curry

For the first time in 233 NBA regular and post season games, Steph Curry did not hit a three-point shot.

It dd not matter as former number one overall pick Andrew Wiggins had an offensive explosion to spark the Warriors.

Wiggins had 26 points with help from Klay Thompson as the Warriors cruised to a comfortable lead at the Chase Center.

The Warriors now have a chance to seal the championship in Game 6 on Thursday, June 16, 2022 while the Celtics will hope to force a game 7 back at the Bay.
