NPFL side partners with airline to fly for away games

The agreement with the airline company was announced on Akwa United's official Twitter account, which posted a message which said "We will be flying @DanaAir for away matches in the NPFL. The deal will be formalised on Friday February 2.@LMCNPFL @DanaAir"

Akwa United and carrier will on Friday, February 2 formalise their agreement.

Akwa United are top of the NPFL and on Wednesday, January 31, they travel to FC Ifeanyi Ubah for a matchday six fixture.

The Aiteo Cup Champions are the only NPFL side to announce a partnership with an airline Operator.

This development should encourage more NPFL teams to partner with airline operators for their away matches.

In recent weeks there have been cause for NPFL sides to worry following the road accident to after the NNL Super four and more recently the MFM auto crash on their way from an NPFL game at Plateau United.
