Boko Haram leader debunks Army’s claim, threatens more violence in new video
Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau has surfaced in a video posted online by the sect.
This is coming after the Nigerian Army issued a statementsaying that the group has been defeated.
In the video, which was obtained from Sahara Reporters, Shekau, who spoke in Hausa, spoke about the joint operation between the Cameroon and Nigerian forces.
The sect’s leader also vowed to carry put more attacks in the North-east, where they have been terrorising for years.
According to Sahara Reporters, Shekau boasted that his men are still in Sambisa forest.
Shekau injured in air-strike
In May 2017, AFP reported that Abubakar Shekauwas injured when two Nigerian Air Force jets bombed Boko Haram members who gathered for prayers in Balla village, near Sambisa Forest.
The report also said that Shekau’s deputy, Abba Mustapha, alias Malam Abba, was killed in the attack.
