4 construction workers killed in Badagry building collapse
Four construction workers have been recovered dead from a building that collapsed in the Badagry area of Lagos State on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
The storey building, located at Flour Mills Estate, Magbon Bus Stop, was under construction, and trapped nine construction workers, all men, at the site.
Five of them were rescued and taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but four were recovered dead from under the rubble.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) demolished the building and cordoned it off.
The building collapsed just weeks after a 21-storey building, one of three luxury high rise buildings under construction, collapsed in Ikoyi, also in Lagos, trapping dozens of people.
15 people were rescued, but at least 45 men and women confirmed dead after over a week of recovery operation by emergency responders.
