Contrary to reports of the 'Sorry sorry' crooner being against 2Face's protest, Femi Kuti has come out to reveal why he questioned the use of the Afrika Shrine as a kick off point for the protest.

Afrobeat musician Femi Anikulapo-Kuti has denied claims of him being against 2Face Idibia’s proposed nationwide protest.

The eldest son of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti took to Twitter today, February 3, 2017 to clear the air on the statements he made earlier in an interview with a popular online publication.

“Contrary to reports I DID NOT blast 2face. I saw a report pic below saying protest was kicking off @ d Shrine I said I was NOT INFORMED,” he wrote on the micro-blogging site.

"B4 protest date was changed it was meant 2kick off d Shrine I said I was weary as y wud a protest b announced @ d Shrine wtout my knowledge."

"I mean I wasn't informed It sounds fishy to me Next I will hear the Shrine has been closed for disturbances".

Kuti also denied stating that the singer came to meet him.

"And I NEVER said 2face came to meet me. I said y Did he NOT meet or call me if protest was kicking off at the Shrine."

"No problem protest venue and date has changed."

Kuti said 2Face was a friend of the Afrika Shrine and he would never tell him off publicly.

"Thank u o 2face is a friend/family of the house I would never Blast him in public. Not my style."

Meanwhile 2Face took to Instagram today, February 3, 2017, announcing a date and time for his highly controversial nationwide protest.

Powered by the 2face Idibia foundation, Lagos state protesters will take off from the National Stadium, Surulere at 8:00am while protesters at Abuja will convene at the Unity Fountain at 9:00am.
