Funke Akindele says she has learnt a lot after her arrest and trial for disobeying the lockdown order issued by the government.
The actress and her husband, JJC Skillz were both found guilty in court for hosting a house party despite the lockdown order issued due to coronavirus.
In a video message on Sunday, April 19, 2020, the actress thanked everyone for the love and support shown to her during her ordeal.
"Thank you for all the love, support, feedback and calls, I really appreciate. These past few weeks has been a learning curve but we must keep moving forward, she said.
"My dear friends, coronavirus is real. We all must continue to collaborate with the Lagos state government and the federal government by staying at home.
The actress went to hammer on the need for Nigerians to practice social distancing and good hygiene during this period.
Akindele thanked all the health workers who have been on the frontline of the pandemic since its emergence and paid condolence to the families of those who have lost loved ones as a result of the disease.
Akindele and JJC Skillz on Saturday, April 4 hosted a party at their house which sparked Twitter backlash the following day. The party was to celebrate Skillz's birthday.
Police arrested Akindele before the Nollywood icon and her husband were arraigned before the magistrate court.
The couple was sentenced to 14 days of community service with a fine of N100, 000 each.
