Reactions as Barcelona start pre-season with 1-1 draw against Olot

La Liga giants Barcelona recorded a 1-1 draw against lower league side Unió Esportiva Olot on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

It was the first pre-season game of the season for Barcelona and they launched their Gold away jersey.

Barcelona took the lead as early as the 28th minute through former Gabon captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

Aubameyang converted a ball from German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen. Olot found the equalizer in the 45th minute when Eloi Amagat Arimany converted a penalty.

Barcelona were unable to convert several chances as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Before kickoff, Barça and Olot took the field wearing 'Improved Reality Glasses' to show support for pediatric cancer patients through a project driven by the Fundació Albert Bosch.

Barcelona fans were impressed with Aubameyang as he started off pre-season with a goal to boost his confidence.

New signing Pablo Torre and Franck Kessie also received praise for the contribution in the game.

Ansu Fati was captain of the side after several substitutions by Head Coach Xavi Hernandez and brought about mixed reactions.
