Early this year, the Federal Government expressed its concerns over the country's growing population. There were talks that the Government was putting stops in place to ensure that childbirth was controlled to its barest minimum. Now we hear that the Government plans to ban Postinor 2, a drug which may have very well controlled the population growth especially amongst the young hot blooded youth.
According to sources representing the government, the reason for the intending ban on the drug are its side effects which according to research is nausea, abdominal pains, fatigue, breast tenderness, dizziness headaches and in the most grievous of cases, a temporal imbalance of your menstrual circle. All these effects are supposed to last for about 24 hours. What is so health altering as to ban the drug?!?Sad as it is,the frequency of use of the drug is highly indicative of the high state of immorality amongst the youths but really, what is the alternative? Prior to the popularity of this drug, the usually course of action was to wait to determine if there was a pregnancy and if there was, the next step was abortion. Abortion may seem in this instance as a more grievous sin as it involves the murder of a living, breathing soul. This, in my opinion does not seem like a better deal. After all they say prevention is better than cure.
Is there another reason for the Federal Government's ban of the product? Will this do anything to increased growth in population which the Federal Government is trying to contain? Is abortion going to be the only next alternative? Does the government think their policies through before delivering them? These are but a few questions that we need to think on.....
