It was the kind of wedding that brought Lagos to a standstill and had social media buzzing nonstop.

Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood icon Iyabo Ojo, tied the knot with Tanzanian music star Juma Jux in what has become one of the most talked-about weddings of the year. Tagged #JP2025, the celebration was nothing short of a cultural spectacle, complete with multiple ceremonies, heartfelt moments, celebrity flair, and stunning fashion from every angle.

A love story built on intention

Their journey began months ago with an intimate wedding introduction held in Tanzania in February. Surrounded by close family and friends, it was a quiet affirmation of their bond.

But Juma wasn't done proving his love, just before Valentine’s Day, he staged a second proposal, this time with a massive 5.2-carat diamond ring. The video melted hearts online and firmly established this union as one built on love and thoughtfulness.

Shortly after, the couple hosted their civil wedding in Lagos. That event alone turned heads, with appearances from Toyin Abraham, Chioma Good Hair, Enioluwa, and Diana Eneje, all of whom documented the ceremony with sweet, stylish posts.

The Traditional Wedding: Lagos comes alive

Held at Five Palms, Oniru, the traditional wedding was a full-blown celebration of both Nigerian and Tanzanian cultures, and every moment felt historic.

The day began with the release of official photos of Priscilla and Juma in rich royal purple traditional attire. With regal posture and undeniable chemistry, the couple looked like royalty, setting the tone for what would be a day of cultural pride, family, and fashion.

Iyabo Ojo & ex-husband share the spotlight

One of the most buzzed-about moments was the reappearance of Iyabo Ojo’s ex-husband, Ademidun Ojo, who had been notably absent during the Tanzanian ceremonies.

Rumours of a strained relationship were quickly laid to rest when a viral video showed the former couple dancing together at the Lagos celebration.

Iyabo’s fans took to social media to praise her for gracefully navigating what could have been an awkward reunion. “She changed the narrative,” one commenter wrote. “Queen Mother did what needed to be done.”

Bridesmaids, brides vibes

Priscilla’s bridesmaids brought uniform elegance in pink lace dresses and striped pink-and-white asooke geles.

From corsets to flared gowns, each look was unique yet cohesive. Their pre-wedding Tanzanian-themed bridal shower also stood out as a heartfelt nod to Juma’s roots.

Fashion moments that shut down the timeline

If there was ever a masterclass in wedding fashion, this was it. The official colour palette, olive green, pink, maroon, and gold, was interpreted with flair and individuality by nearly every guest.

Priscilla’s two jaw-dropping looks

  • Look One: Royal purple elegance with Juma in matching agbada; a timeless opening act.

  • Look Two: A sparkling silver lace gown with a deep maroon gele and rich embellishments. Juma wore a maroon velvet agbada, embroidered to mirror her dress, complete with a black carved staff and traditional beads. Regal doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Iyabo Ojo: Mother of the Bride

Iyabo’s green-and-gold Mubrik Luxury dress featured an intricately beaded corset with floral cutouts, fringed “ipele,” and bold rose-patterned headgear. Later, she stunned again in a vibrant blend of orange, red, and coral beads that turned heads.

Mercy Aigbe’s two asoebi slays

Mercy’s green lace flowing gown with a lime-to-beige gradient and sheer sleeves was unforgettable. But her second look? A monochrome pink bùbá and ìró ensemble that screamed sophistication, paired with bold jewellery and a multicoloured clutch.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State made a surprise appearance, taking to the stage to sing and dance, much to the crowd’s delight.

Toyin Abraham, Chioma Good Hair, Enioluwa, Diana Eneje, and Michelle Aigbe (Mercy Aigbe’s daughter) all attended and looked flawless.

Papaya Ex had tongues wagging when she arrived in a sleek dress with the groom’s photo emblazoned on her bust, a bold and controversial fashion statement that instantly went viral.
