Electronics company introduces first Galaxy A series devices

Samsung Electronics West Africa has launched its new Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 devices that offer functions to support social networking.

According to Samsung, both devices are available in a variety of colours and sizes, to empower younger consumers to quickly and easily capture meaningful moments, connect to social media and share their daily experiences.

The devices were unveiled at the movie premiere of Samsung brand ambassador and singer, Banky W's music films and video, A Music Film Experience, in Lagos last Thursday.

Director of Handheld Products for Samsung Electronics West Africa, Emmanuel Revmatas, said: "The Galaxy A5 and A3 offer a beautifully crafted full metal unibody, slim design, superior hardware and the best possible social media experience. These devices make our advanced Galaxy experience even more accessible to young and trend conscious consumers."

Featuring refined full metal body designs that are 6.7mm and 6.9mm thin, respectively, the Galaxy A5 and A3 are Samsung's slimmest smartphones to date. The devices are available in Pearl White, Midnight Black, Platinum Silver and Champagne Gold, to accommodate the personal style and preference of diverse users.

The Galaxy A5 and A3 come with two Hybrid SIM slots that allow users to decide between the option of using two SIMS or alternating the second slot for memory expansion with a micro SD card.

According to Revmatas, the devices will be available in the market in the New Year and the first set of consumers to purchase the devices will be given a Selfie Stick, a monopod specifically designed to be held at arm’s length for that perfect shot.

Other exciting features of the Galaxy A5 and A3 include a superior mobile and social experience for young consumers who want to express their unique style while constantly staying connected.

With an advanced 5MP front-facing camera, Samsung said taking vivid selfies was now easier than ever before.

It said innovative photo-taking features such as Wide Selfie, Palm Selfie, Animated GIF, Beauty Face Features, and Rear-cam Selfie let users capture attractive selfies in high resolution by automatically detecting and focusing on a person's face.

"Users are also able to quickly and easily share photos or videos on their favorite social media platforms with the device's fast network connectivity," the company said.

Banky W, while speaking on the introduction of the devices at his movie premiere, said, "The Galaxy A series is an innovative smartphone for today's upwardly mobile youth. The phones are all about connectivity, sharing exciting moments with friends and family and being socially relevant."

Both devices are equipped with an extraordinary Super AMOLED display and Adaptive Display technology to deliver clearer images with deep contrast and better viewing angles for more vivid, colourful content in virtually any environment, even under bright sunlight.

"Because of less influence from environment noise with the improved Adjustable Audio function of both devices, our consumers can enjoy top quality sound at any time and place without disturbance. This is a testament to our leadership and innovation in the smartphone market and commitment to developing best-in-class products to meet the ever-changing needs of our consumers,"Revmatas added.
