The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi's security guard was on Tuesday, February 9, shot dead by unknown gunmen.

It was gathered that he was shot in front of the monarch's house while going to buy a recharge card for his phone.

According to The Nation, the guard was, suspected to be a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) officer, was working at the private residence of the Ooni.
Before he was killed, eyewitnesses said the deceased had told his colleagues that he wanted to purchase a recharge card.
