Tatabu village bridge collapses due to rain

There were no deaths recorded during the incident, although a few vehicles fell into the collapsed section of the road.

The collapsed bridge at Tatabu village along Mokwa-Jebba road in Kwara state

Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), led by the Unit Commander ACC Danladi Samari, were at the scene on Tuesday to assess the damage as movement on the bridge became impossible.

The FRSC has advised that motorists use an alternative route to continue their business while repairs commence on the bridge.

The administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan awarded the contract for the rehabilitation of the Ilorin-Jebba-Mokwa-Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna road to the tune of N14.58 billion in November 2013.
