Four people have been confirmed dead in Benue State after a clash between rival cult groups.

The violence is said to have occurred on Saturday, August 8, 2015, in Makurdi, the state capital.

The first two persons were killed at the Welfare Quarters area of the town while the remaining two victims were shot dead at the Commissioners Quarters and Wadata areas, Punch reports.
The incident has been confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Austin Ezeani, who however confirmed only one death while adding that two other persons were injured in the clash.
