Suicide bombers kill 12

The incident is said to have occurred on Saturday, October 17, 2015, in the Madagali Local Government Area of the state.

 

12 people have reportedly died in Adamawa State following an attack by two female suicide bombers.

The attack was confirmed by the former head of the Madagali local government council, Maina Ularamu.

"Residents fled to the bush. After a while, two women who disguised as fleeing locals blew themselves up... while the gunmen shot at survivors… so far 12 corpses have been found,” Ularamu told journalists.

The spokesperson for the Adamawa Police Command, Othman Abubakar, also confirmed the attack but said 11 people died.

Abubakar also urged residents to give the police vital information regarding insurgents who lived in the area.

Meanwhile, soldiers in Borno State, on Sunday, October 18, shot dead a female suicide bomber who was allegedly planning an attack on Maimalari Barracks in the state capital, Maiduguri.
