Obasanjo, Buhari attend President’s last Council of State meeting [PHOTOS]

The meeting was attended by President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, ex-President, Olusegun Obasanjo and former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida among others.

President Goodluck Jonathan presides over last Council of State meeting

President Goodluck Jonathan, today, May 12, 2015, presided over his last Council of State meeting.

The meeting was attended by President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, ex-President, Olusegun Obasanjo and former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida among others.

The meeting reportedly began at 11am and Obasanjo was thought to have shunned it until he appeared about an hour later.

The Council consists of the President (as the chairman), Vice President, all former Presidents or former Heads of State, all former Chief Justices of Nigeria, President of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives, all state governors and the Attorney-General of the Federation.

Jonathan will not preside over any more Council of State meetings as he will be vacating his office on May 29, 2015, when Buhari is sworn in.
