Boko Haram insurgents on Monday, December 29, launched an attack on a village near Chibok in Borno and left at least 15 people dead, reports say.

The terrorists were said to have invaded Kautikari, which is near the Cameroon border, and opened fire on the residents.

“They were about twenty, well-armed. They came in four-wheel drive vehicles and some motorcycles. Initially, I thought they were soldiers,” survivor Jonah Umaru told Voice of America.

“The man running behind me was gunned down as I was fleeing. Afterwards, there were 15 people lying dead in the streets,” Umaru added.
