Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuani of Enugu state.

Speaking during the Enugu State women monthly prayers, Ugwuanyi said that the programme was the greatest pillar behind the peace and peaceful co-existence in the state.

"The monthly prayer is the reason my administration has been able to overcome all challenges such as payment of workers' salaries and the provision of infrastructure in spite of the present economic difficulties.

"Prayer is the secret of my administration’s success.

"I thank the women of Enugu for their commitment to God and for their concern for the progress of the state.

"I appeal to you not to relent but continue to offer special prayers for the development, peace and progress of the state,’’ he said.

Earlier, his wife, Mrs Monica Ugwuanyi, who is the convener of the programme, commended him for his ``unequalled support” to the women of the state.

She noted that the programme with the theme ``Touching Lives” marked the commencement of this year's August Meeting by women of the state.

Mrs Ugwuanyi urged the women to ensure that they positively affected lives through their resources, especially at this time of economic difficulties.
