Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed said in February that the largest amount recovered due to the policy was a sum of $136.7 million which was found in in a commercial bank.

A whistleblower also, on Wednesday, April 12, led the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to a home in Ikoyi, Lagos where about $50 million was found hidden in fireproof safes.

Here are seven things you should know about the government’s whistleblower policy:

Meanwhile, the Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of the $50 million recovered by the EFCC to the Federal Government.
