It's no secret that Crvena Zvezda is in dire need of a point guard. The departure of Codi Miller-McIntyre to Olympiacos has left a significant void in that position, forcing the Red and Whites to seek a new playmaker.
While the connection between Facundo Campazzo and Crvena Zvezda is well-known, and discussions within the club have revolved around his potential return, such a move appears highly improbable. The Argentine guard is under contract with Los Blancos until 2027 and has reportedly turned down an extension offer. Despite this, he remains a key part of new Real Madrid coach Pedro Martinez's plans.
The only viable path for Campazzo's return would be a mutual agreement to part ways, a scenario that seems increasingly unlikely. Campazzo previously played for Crvena Zvezda during the 2022/2023 season before rejoining Real Madrid. His career also includes stints with Peñarol and Murcia. Unofficial reports suggest his salary is around three million euros per season, a figure that Zvezda would struggle to match financially against Real Madrid. So far, the Red and Whites have brought in Chris Jones, Patrick Baldwin Jr., David Kramer, and Johnathan Motley.
