ZVEZDA – OLYMPIACOS: Another Red-and-White Derby, Serbian Team Seeks Revenge!

Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet basketball players continue their pre-season preparations. This Friday, they will face Olympiacos in a tournament in Cyprus.

Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet was defeated by Olympiacos 87-77 in the final of a preparatory tournament in Crete five days ago, but this Friday they will have an opportunity for revenge at the tournament in Cyprus.

The game tips off at 8 PM CET.

In addition to the red-and-whites from Belgrade and Piraeus, Aris and Maccabi Tel Aviv will also participate in the tournament.

This tournament serves as one of the crucial final tests for head coach Ibon Navarro before the team begins official competitions in the ABA League and EuroLeague.

Regarding Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet, it's confirmed that Chima Moneke will play in this preparatory tournament, having resolved all necessary paperwork for his new passport. Stefan Miljenović has also traveled to Cyprus.

Dejan Davidovac will not play, remaining in Belgrade due to a minor injury, and Nikola Đurišić, who was previously injured, will also be absent.

Tyrique Jones will not play for Olympiacos in this tournament.

The former Partizan player underwent a minor surgical procedure to remove a cyst from his right thigh. It is nothing serious, and he is expected to return to Olympiacos training next week, with the goal of participating in the EuroLeague Super Cup, scheduled for September 18th and 19th in Abu Dhabi.

His exact status and readiness for the new EuroLeague competition will be known next week.

Live broadcast of this friendly match between Crvena Zvezda and Olympiacos will be available on Arena Premium 1.
